There's not a single squash pro that hits like this guy is telling you too... not one.
.
This guy is just a tennis player that thinks he can do squash too.
.
Just garbage.

I like the idea of pulling through as that will get the upper body and hips involved in the right way. The Frisbee comment works too when it comes to getting the upper body and hips involved but may suggest that you “break” (bend back) the wrist which you definitely don’t want to do as you need it “cocked” and fixed for power transference. I’d leave out the comment on keeping the racket up on the backswing as you really want to take the racket head back behind your intended line of shot, not up.

the basis of your backhand is slicing it? you've been playing too much tennis villageman!

I really need backhand tips because i'm a left handed player and all my opponents are righthanded so it's hard to keep up with the rally

@delsol1967 when did he ever say he was trying to show how to do a drive, it was just a simple technique for a backhand shot. These shots are also very useful when trying to make the ball fall instantly after it hits the wall, which will make it harder for your opponent to return it. Disguise this shot as a drive and make it hit low on the wall or it will not work to its best

@the69ryin .. not being rude but if your wanting to get better most of the pros these days arnt following through because they need time to get ready for the next one , and your body doesnt need to be squash watch terry lincou and how he can hit it with an open an dclosed stance so perfect

What he says is basically correct, but could be clearer. He talks about using the hip and shoulder muscles, which is important, and his technique looks fine. He didn't mention bending the legs, which is very important, or weight transfer, and I can't remember about shoulder turn, but there's only so much one can say in a short amount of time. I think he really meant to emphasize loft, and the comment about slicing was simply unclear.

Believe me this may sound rude but it isn't meant to be..it is a genuine request...you seem to know what ur talking about here...so why don't you set up a series of vids...even just talking ones...where a person can properly learn how to hit basic shots...or do you know of better videos on YT, or anywhere else for that matter, a person can follow?
That is certainly not the way to hit a drive... You don't slice the ball unless you're trying to take the pace off the ball. And slicing is not the same as hitting with an open face. For those guys who try to defend this so-called expert - you don't have to be rude .... and when you know more about squash, look back at this video and you'll see how valid the other comments are. It's a case of the blind defending the blind ... sigh

How do you use the wrist in squash? Answer: You don't. Although this isn't completely true, it is the best way to learn good basic technique. As long as your wrist is cocked, you hardly need to move your wrist at all when you are playing basic strokes. When you watch the Pros, it might look like they are using their wrist a lot. But the motion that appears to be wrist movement is actually a more powerful turning of the elbow and forearm. Of course this is not true of all pros.
