We have no wildlife up here in Upstate New York near Woodstock. The clouds take that crap up into the skies to much of the country. It is disgusting and ridiculous. It is so ignorant. It is in our food chain, and in our water. It is in our rain. This is a major catastrophe and so is fukishima...this is a problem that goes way beyond Florida unfortunately. I lived on padre island and tar was a natural phenomenon.it always oozed up from the ground.and has for milleniums.When you stop driving cars and riding boats and stop using electricity then you have a valid point.so dont start to be all concerned about the environment only when it hits your backyard

Last weekend I went to Grand Isle (an island outside of Louisiana) with some family. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until my brother and his friend began to dig a big hole in the sand. A few inches down, there was a layer of oil. Multiple tar balls were also found. Supposedly, BP comes every morning and cleans up along the beach with their big machinery.
