Dickey is the man. Without his music there is no Allman Brothers Band. He did not leave the ABB he was fired in 2000 by Fax. Sad it happened but life moves on..

Dickey leaves those rare guitars at home. On that run we used these new Les Pauls that Gibson built custom. #DB001 and DB002, and a master built copy of the gold top. The gear arrived about 3 hours after the show ended. We did have to rush around and set up 5 guitars and 2 basses with new strings etc in about 30 mins. It all worked cause he smoked it! Thanks Hamburg!

why did dickey leave the allmans?

I saw them at an outdoor concert in Moscow PA (in the Pocono's)September 09. it was cold like 40 degrees and their was only a few hundred people, but they played great despite the elements. My son and i really enjoyed the show

Absolutley. But, when you've got guitars like Dickey's, it matters. He's got late 50s Les Pauls, and they got lost on the airline. If that happened to me, I would be sick. Which, is why I don't fly to shows...haven't had to fly to any of my shows, anyway, so it didn't matter. But, you get my point.
