The guy in the middle is Irving Mills. Mills was a music publisher, promoter, and a figurehead bandleader on recording bands such as the Hotsy Totsy Gang and Mills Blue Rhythm Band,. He also helped promote the careers of Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Jack Teagarden, Benny Goodman, and others. He booked bands and managed Duke Ellington for many years. He was one of the first to record integrated bands.

Who is the guy in the middle of the picture at 2:42? I recognize Cab Calloway next to him of course, and Chick Webb on the other side obviously, and Duke Ellington in the bottom corner of the frame, but who is the fellow in the middle? Cool pic though!
