Blogger Asserts Copyright, Newspaper Editor Gets Irate

I confront a newspaper editor for plagiarizing my work. Things get tense.

Update: The video looks a little different now due to having YouTube stabilize it. This was done to prevent the numbers on the check at the end from being seen. I thought I had them out of the scene, but due to the shakiness of the video, they were partially visible.

Now, they are completely out of the frame.

I disagree. Once the old lady mentions the camera it appears to have an instant effect on the editor's demeanor. The camera makes everyone present think about their actions first. It adds sanity and judgement. Even if it didn't, it doesn't take from anyone by it's presence.

How is he in the wrong? The person plagiarized his work verbatim, are you suggesting he's not entitled to payment for his research and time? Im sorry but that old guy is taking full credit for someone else's work and in this day and age (where intellectual property is extremely valuable) something like that can not go unpunished.

The answer to the question 'are you a friend of Mr Wedlock's' (Sp?) is 'mind your own business' although the answer can be phrased in several more polite ways.

A relative of mine once visited a bad debt with four big, ugly and hairy employees, after telling the police what he was going to do, and started removing the debtor's computers. The account was settled PDQ. You can talk 'till you're blue in the face, most people understand a positive response and it saves a lot of time and frustration.

If this "editor" had any shame he would have been kissing your ass the second it was clear who you were. Plagiarism, in any form, is the cardinal sin of print media - that's journalism 101. These people have NO BUSINESS running a newsletter, let alone a Podunk newspaper. What a joke.
