Education is a terrible way to find out what you're good at. Sound strange, right?

But think about this; how many of you are currently working in the subject you liked most in school. Not the one you excelled in, the one you liked.

In our very streamlined public education system, children around the world are taught the maths and sciences, but how many of them are taught art, painting or dance with the same vigour?

In our very streamlined public education system, children around the world are taught the maths and sciences, but how many of them are taught art, painting or dance with the same vigour?

Riz speaks with world renowned creativity and education expert Ken Robinson who strongly believes the current state of education may begin holistically but progressively focuses "on the head, and then just to one side."

  • Nindota ah!

  • @mgillis11383 math and science is litterally restricted to one side of the brain, a side that neglects creativity, this is what they want, they wouldn't let Adam or Eve eat the "tree of knowledge" you think that rule has changed ??

  • @hannaremnant is being taught about the global warming scam "education?"

  • I want Riz Khan to cover Sal Khan, Thumbs up so they notice this comment!

  • this theme song is my favorite

  • Watch the entire TED talk. Just search TED talk creativity... You won't be disappointed.

  • ALso most schools encourage arts program. I live in CAnada but I would guess it's the same in america. I go to really academic school. My school has a violin program that half are school s in, a concert band program, an art program, a drama program. I also has dance clubs. People there are always encourage people do be involved in the arts some how and still do math and science, so I don't really know what this video is talking about.

  • what about the people who excel at math or science more than the art. I know people who have no artistic ability whatsoever and they drop arts as soon as they can.
