Estelle's Monologue from "Huis Clos"

This was for my Theatre Studies Performance exam. We chose a monologue, blocked it out, put together or made our own costumes (I made mine from scratch, except the shoes and the wig), rehearsed it and applied conventions from theatrical styles in order to convey meaning.

This was my result, it is not from my examination, but from a performance that was held on the night of my performance exam.... I honestly did it better in the exam. I was nervous to sing, hence the voice break....

The excerpt is from Jean Paul Sartre's playscript "Huis Clos" otherwise known as "In Camera" or "No Exit".

It's not perfect, but I put a lot of effort into my performance, so I hope you will enjoy it.

I couldn't tell in the slightest that was a wig you were wearing because it seemed so genuine and being an actress things are hard and I wondered how you did it and where you got if from.

Could you provide a video on how to put on a performance, picking hair and outfits excetra

@AifricDeSpann I'm glad! :) I worried my hair would show at the back, but it didn't, I was lucky. It is difficult, but with lots of work, it can be done :) I got my wig from a website called FM-Anime :)

I could certainly make a video of that sort over the holidays! Once I get past exams and such I will be more than happy to make it :)

@xAngelxHeartxx I never realised it was cosplay, I thought it a serious drama, I do watch Pokemon but that gets lets Japanese by the second, the website for the wig was for something Japanese, I never knew this performance was for a Japanese show.

@AifricDeSpann It isn't cosplay, Huis Clos is by Jean-Paul Sartre which is quite a serious play which focuses on the meaninglessness of life. I chose the particular wig because it suited Estelle despite that it was for an anime character I want to dress up in the future. This performance wasn't for a Japanese show and is only a monologue excerpt from Huis Clos.

@mermaidArianna Hahaha nah, we're allowed to be prompted in the exam if we forget a line, but if we are prompted to much, we get a lower mark O_O"" I was lucky I remembered it all word for word :D I usually need lyrics too, but if I know a song well enough its okay XD Thank you :D You're seriously epic too :D Yaaay!! @mermaidArianna Yup! Hahaha, it was lots of fun performing in the theatre :) The exam wasn't difficult, it was a little nerve racking but I just had to do my monologue and I was confident that I knew it all, so it was not as scary as I expected haha :P

@mermaidArianna Thank you ^-^ Hahah :) Yeah, it is a bit scary, but thank you :) No, this wasn't a video of my exam, but it was at a performance on the night of my exam, I had my exam at 10:12am hahaha. So here I was performing for an audience. In the exam, it's just three assessors in a room :)
