Susticacan, Zacatecas

This clean and beautiful little town in the sierra just outside of Jerez, Zacatecas has maintained its autonomy since its founding in 1562. Check it out on August 15 when all the paisanos come back for the annual fiesta. there´s a small but very interesting museum with photos and artifacts, and really friendly people who let us film from the church rooftop. The migration that for years has emptied out the town is slowing down with young people being now motivated to find ways to stay.
