Mawenzi Tarn, 4330m. Sarge and Chris suffering from altitude sickness, neither made Kilimanjaro summit. Chris got delusional that night and was taken down the mountain next day, Sarge (on left) made one more day but was then taken down from Kibu hut.
What a bunch of absolute LOSERS!! All three of you are FAILURES in life and should be ASHAMED of yourselves. POOR SHOWING

@bnbalenda Altitude sickness is not about "giving up" you listen to your body. Plenty of people have ignored the symptoms of cerebral and pulminary odemas and their bodies HAVE given up. Sadly they are unable to reply to stupid comments like yours.

Pole`, pole`!!! Or in English, slowly. Kili is not a technical climb by any stretch. Take your time, and enjoy it for crying out loud! This is probably a once in a lifetime experience, so spend the extra money, take your time, and enjoy it. Altitude sickness is not fun.

This is why it is so important to take your time!! Pay the extra money to go with a high quality outfitter and take a few extra days, why risk your successful summit? Kili is so beautiful, it is sad to see anyone not make it.

The issue is acclimatization, not age, endurance, or preparation. Kili is not a tough walk except for the altitude and the answer to that is patience. It takes time to adjust to altitude. Most people this sick are making the 4 day climb. It is cheap but it has about a 40% failure rate. With a 7 day climb, the success rate is over 90%.
