Ahmad Kamal, Pakistan's former Ambassador to the United Nations, and Hassan Abbas, a former Pakistani government official who is now with the Asia Society, join Edie Magnus for a roundtable on AfPak. They discuss power-sharing with the Taliban, drone strikes along the Afghan border in northwest Pakistan and American foreign policy challenges in the region. http://worldfocus.org/blog/2010/01/25/obama-and-the-world-afghanistan-and-pak...

  • American couldn't win anywhere so now they are going for peace deal. I don't think that muslims should trust US as it has millions of muslim blood on its hand. This peace talk is bullshit and US is just buying time so that they can strike at the weakest moment. The only stretegy for US would be to leave Afgh and other occuped regions. There will be is no peace with out that. We don't want US. period.

  • These gentlemen are fully aware Taliban are operating as proxies of US interests. Stupid Americans don't understand the war on terror is a farce but Pakistanis do.

  • Kamal's take on "negotiated settlement" with the Taliban is preposterous. Pakistan just did exactly that in the Swat Valley last year and what we saw is a microcism of what such an attempt would bear in the larger picture. The Taliban isnt interested in compromise of any kind. They just aren't The paradigm in this case will always be dictated by the loudest voice in the room and in the case of the Taliban, they have a Caliph and Mullah Omar wants All of Afghanistan and His is the loudest voice.
