@GemzieR time waster course?
-
@GemzieR I agree, but reading Great Gatsby was a joy.
-
@GemzieR it should be called Enduring Pain.

@Kelvinian Can't even remember what I put. I love english and it takes me away from the science (Medical Biochem at university actually, not a time-waster course)

@GemzieR Then why the hell did you take an English literature course? By all means, continue; maybe you'll get to enjoy such page-turners as Clarissa at University.

I just re-read the opening chapter from the novel and can honestly say that it is one of the most gripping pieces of fiction I've ever read.

ill settle this: the book states that the guy that died was John Logan and he was a father in Oxford. as a father, it was his duty to save the boys life even though he didnt know the kid. tbh i didnt like the book and the film is A LOT different to the book.

stupid fkn kid could've easily jumped out.. joes life never would've been ruined

the choreography and the orchestration of this scene is absolutey stunning. How they managed to film this and keep time with the movement of the wind and the balloon, while still keeping the same lighting is beyond me. the fall from the rope is very impressively done too. (it was a random guy that fell)
The book is ridiculously repetitive. I'm reading it for A-lvl and it's really getting on my nerves.

which is exacly what ended up happening - but obviously the old man wasn't thinking logically. you would never simply leave your child or grandchild in a rogue balloon by themselves. you would fight for them.
it was a pretty understandable decision
