Cizffra would have kicked all their asses.

@w3sp She was my favorite pianist from Cliburn 2009.

It is so superb. Of course, she could play it at breakneck speed if she wanted-- she has technique to burn. But she turns it into a passion piece. Pure magic. Oh, yeah, she's gorgeous, too. I would marry her in a heartbeat.

Lhevinne's version is amazing. I think this version is a little heavy and dull.

She dazzled me at the Van Cliburn, I discovered an amazing virtuose and with her personality and interpretation, one of the greatest artist of or time.

There are many fine pianists nowadays, but Yeol Eum Son is extraordinary. Of course this is my own subjective opinion and I'm not comparing her to anyone else. I'm just very moved by her musicianship and superb talent for one so young. I wish her the greatest success in her art and in life. Bravo and EMAHO!

Exquisite! Even sublime! She plays it expressively with great elegance. This is primarily a piece of music not a circus stunt.
I guess I've heard just about everybody who is anybody play the étude on thirds, and this is certainly one of thee most --- if not the most --- satisfying performances yet encountered.

And I suppose you are a superior to judge. She made it to the finals of the Chopin competition; I am sure she's above the dexterity of a mere student.
