@MatrixOfDynamism Well , I get my information from Muhammad's recorded speeches. I have a book for a late Sheikh Alazhar, probably , the biggest Islamic priest in the world, in whixh he says that FGM is an Islamic ritual and any muslim woman should follow the words of Muhammad not the words of doctors. He also says FGM is a must and recommended by all the the major doctrines(Hanbali, Shafii, Malki, Hanafi). Besides about 60% of FGM cases have been muslims.FGM IS Islamic. You just won't admit it.

@prenceviva I don't know where you get your info frm but FGM is NOT Islamic. For example its not even done in South Asia. Its only done in Africa and has existed from preIslamic times.

Yes even male circucision is not mentioned in the Quran. Yet, the Quran is only half Islam. Sunnah (or recorded sayings of the Muhammad) recommends circumcision for males and females and please stop being ignorant and read a little. It IS ridiculous to say that because the Quran is silent Islam doesn't recommend FGM. IT DOES and it is made all over Egypt here because of Islamic teaching.
