The UCLA-USC rivalry is the college rivalry between two universities located in Los Angeles, California: the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.The athletic competition rivalry between the two schools is among the more notable in NCAA Division I sports because both schools are located within the same city. The campuses are only ten miles apart. The sheer proximity of both alumni and students, and the likelihood of encountering each other and interacting on a daily basis make this one of the most intense college rivalries in the United States.

This is a really big & fairly intense rivalry. Both schools have had lots of success in football (though far more for SC) & both have lots of tradition. There is some real hate between the schools, their teams, fans, students, alumni, cheerleaders, bands, janitorial crews, etc. Funny seeing the Victory Bell in UCLA blue. That bell has been blue for only one year since Nov. '99 ('06-'07). The bell has been virtually cemented in place at SC's Heritage Hall as the Trojans have won 11 of last 12.

@CollegeRivals2010 The most important rankings are the Academic rankings-USC is now ahead of UCLA. Given the choice, who would choose a bloated, impersonal, underfunded public school over USC?
