Senior Patrick Willems made a movie about Art Rental!
For one night, at the beginning of the semester, the courtyard of Allen Art Museum fills up with students. That night is art rental. Students line up with tents, sleeping bags, board games and homework, ready to camp out all night so they can take home a priceless work of art in the morning.
You cant jump or cut in line, save a space or leave for any extended period of time. First come, first served. At 9:00, the museum opens and students come in to choose their pieces.
Students can pick two pieces of art. The Picassos, Dalis, Matisses and Chagals go fast, but there are 400 works to choose from, so everyone can get something.
Each work costs $5 to rent.
Love this video and the promotion of art rental for students at the college! Wish we could offer our artwork for only $5 rental :-) Lisa at artrentandlease

And this is why I am applying to Oberlin. Of course, there is more to it. :)

What a cool concept. I hope it catches on at other colleges.
