ummm....why do people keep procreating if they have such a difficult time with the children they've already got? My son is autistic, and extremely challenging...he needs SOOO much attention. I couldn't even imagine having another child, mostly because of the risk of another autistic child. Also, who is going to take care of these precious children when the parents are no longer here? The amount of attention my son needs would definitely take away time from any other children...birth control

They are crazy and foolish.... if you have a 2nd child with Autism then STOP having kids! geeze! i have 1 child with autism that just turned 3, and i think about having another baby EVERY SINGLE DAY because i always planned on 2 kids.. but i am not fully comfortable with that decision right now. So i am waiting to see how much he progresses before i move on to the next stage.

I'm sorry but that's stupid. 1. having one autistic child puts you at risk for having more, and 2. children mimic what they see, they don't even have to be related. Even if her last 3 children don't end up actually having autism, they will act as though they would. What she said about her 9 year-old makes me think he may not be autistic, regression is more common in other PDDs

@refi68 I think it's better to have more children, because than the child with autism won't feel like the child that has something, the special child. We have 5 children and I'm the one in the middle and the one with PDD NOS. But I agree that when the child with autism is to much trouble, you shouldn't have more children. When a child has autism and you know how to not let it be a problem, you can have more chidren. If it's to much trouble concentrate on your child with trouble.

@dness87 Have another baby .. Just dont get them vaccinated! Problem solved!

I have 4 children only one has autism... He had a ton of vaccines.. My last 3rd.. only got a couple of vaccines.. he is super smart. Baby number 4 is totally unvaccinated and she is super healthy!

Is it because you think they are off "in their own world?"..in fact, they need more attention than normal kids, because they have NO sense of danger, and can't sit still (my sons case)..I wake up (from a broken 5 hours of sleep), and hit the ground running with him...it's nonstop...He can't be left alone for 1 second..he'll play in the toilet, eat something harmful, climb the furniture, flood the house..you have no idea.I would not have a second for a baby

According to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MEDICINE AND THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION "Everyone is exposed to mercury through air, drinking water, soil and food.
