Você vem ao meu país para matar nossos gigantes!
Meu amigo, da próxima vez que vier, tenha o mínimo de respeito pela minha nação, devolva nossos peixes vivos ao seu Habitate.

All of Russells records are authenticated with the gaming commission he is affiliated with. The title displays in the credits at the end of the video. There are also varied methods of obtaining the records. russell usually targets the rod and reel record set.

the crazy thing is there are probably even bigger ones waiting to be caught!!!
I guess it depends upon what you mean by "one up'd"....Russell fishes with Rod and Reel and does it without the aid of the National Geographic staff or the equipment indicated in their video displays.

were any of those catch and release?

To my knowledge they all were catch and release. During my conversations with Russell, his indication is that it is a hurried process to get the weight and measurement before releasing the fish. I will have to ask Russell when he returns from his current fishing expedition to give an accurate description of the methods used.
