@colourfulwithaU I love this! "a wrong note played with conviction is a right note", which makes it @ that point a new interpretation, based, not on accuracy but on present feelings. Now, a person like you can actually appreciate jazz to its fullest. Many legendary composers were trying to send us a message that very few interpreters grasped.
Because they know how to cover up a mistake. A more amateurish would pianist would hesitate to continue after playing that wrong note, which makes it sound like a mistake. As it is in all music, a wrong note played with conviction is a right note.
@colourfulwithaU still didn't hear it. funny thing about music is, if you don't study the particular piece but listen to the masters, it's very tough to detect a mistake.
It has been said that Richter has the record of the most mistakes in live performances but that's because of the intensity of his playing, not any technical shortcoming.

@Baankhamen goes to prove that a man is not judged by his mistakes but by his successes.

He screws up at 2:12! I never thought I would see RICHTER of all pianists make a mistake. But, there it is.

God I love Richter. He was known to cancel concerts at the last minute because he was an unsatisfied perfectionist.
