From a fellow 86 grad of beaverditch- Freedom was once treated like a highly desirable, virtuous woman(Prov. 31)-she is to be sought after above security, for example, fought for, cherished and treated respectfully knowing you could lose her, and die for her. In other words, up until the 20th century, the USA "married" freedom.
Today, we have our one night stands with freedom---passion, but no commitment. Only for good, not for bad. We have the same attitude of freedom we have for marriage

Ok, just to clarify: my question concerning Elmer Davis. I KNOW there are many who continue to fight for our freedom! I am thankful. I am making a statement against the political class in America today. They are NOT freedom lovers. They only wish to enslave us & make us subject to tyranny once again.

I beg to differ on your statement about where are the people who stand for freedom and what is right. I am surrounded by these people every day. I never knew that you were so anti government.

sorry to be unclear. I KNOW there are many who stand for our freedom. My only point is not within the 'political class' those elected to "lead" us. I am proud of everyone who serves, has served and will serve. Let me be clear! sorry for the confusion
