Naked was released in 1993 and is about a Mancunian man who is hiding out in London. He believes that the end is nigh and everything will come to an end in 1999. A very sophisticated yet dark and slightly nihilistic piece of cinema.

Wow, looks like you watched it recently. I just watched it tonight and I actually really liked it. I never watch obscure films like this because usually I find them to be really pretentious but this wasn't like that at all.

David Thewlis is just so incredible! I am stunned by this performance every time I see the film or when I watch these clips. How he did not get an Oscar is the greatest mystery of all time!

The way he recites those lines in the security guard scene! It is just outstanding! What a legend!

This is possibly my favourite film of all time. I have seen thousands upon thousands of films.This is the one. Definitely the best British film ever made in my opinion.

Best film of the 90's for me too etc etc. I saw this at a point in my life i needed to see it. Hit me like a brick over the head. Very powerful.

And it changed my life. Mike Leigh really is one of a kind.

David Thewlis has got a bloody great character in this film. In fact he's got a lot of great characters in a lot of great films and TV shows, and do you know why? It's because he's a bloody brilliant actor. I know for a fact that I can't act half as good as he can but I keep fucking trying because if I ever even meet him I'll know I've achieved something.
