(July 11)Handwritten and framed ---- these are the original lyrics to John Lennon's famous anti-war song 'Give Peace A Chance'And Thursday, they were auctioned off in London to anyone willing to pony up what turned out to be a rather a huge sum of money.SOT: Gail Renard: "My greatest fear, and my friends will tell you, I panicked yesterday, because I didn't think it would sell.Gail Renard was with Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969 as the former Beatle began scribbling the lyrics down on a piece of paper....At the time, the famous couple were staging a Bed-in protest for peace at the Queens Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal.Lennon soon handed Renard the original draft of the song, Asking her to rewrite them in larger print so that they could record a version of the song in the room.....And everyone involved in the protest could take part.It was a gift that the then 16-year-old girl had kept for nearly 40 years....SOT: (English) Gail Renard, previous owner of John Lennon lyrics:I told myself, and I meant it: if it didn't sell, I still had the lyrics, and I had the greatest time in the world and met some splendid people. Other items sold at the auction included a pair of prescription sunglass worn by Lennon and an amp used by Jimi Hendrix ___ ___, The Associated Press.

@retro9Anime i say everyones different because i think hendrix sucks compared to the afforementioned,so hop off of hendrix's dick , big fuckin deal you like him and think hes god or something,again,he cant play as fast as yngwie or michael angelo bation,john petrucci was a part of dream theater and they composed some fantastic music because they all graduated from top musical schools around the world,i listen to some hendirx,but i dont think hes anywhere near some peoples ability

@xplozyn dont say something like "but hey, everyone likes different music" after you talk all that crap about those guys destroying hendrix....really people just dont understand why jimi was great...he was great because he was ahead of his time, he was innovative, he was a great player with songs that none of those guys could ever dream of COMPOSING, so really while it might be about taste you cant deny that Benjamin Franklin opened lots of doors for us even though he didnt invent the ipod.
