grow hemp, use it for LOCAL fuel, convert local transportation to accept hemp fuel. Hemp is th emost efficient solar collector available.
Oyster mushrooms can be grown vertically in plastic tubs, anywhere, on organic waste. With exponential growth, you provide food, recycle waste and regenerate the biosphere.

we could get the big oil companies to use the steam engine patients they bought in the 70's and have kept locked up since. Some professor from Melbourne invented a small engine that can be used in cars that heats water into steam. It reuses the same water and is more powerful that normal petrol engines. Research it yourself, i read it in a magazine yrs ago.

Interesting how he chooses cars to run on gas or electric and uges government and business to take peak oil serious and go through industry by industry.Surely the airline industry will be last as airoplanes cannot run on gas or electric .I think this is all about money for Richard.If we got governments to increasingling wean industry by industry off oil it would lower the price of crude oil .Would Richards virgin airlines then pass this saving on to the passenger? its all about MONEY 4 richard

@GrueysWall Its about peak oil. Not oil reserves. Its about cost per new barrel of oil. They won't dig up the rest of the stuff if its not economically viable.
The alternatives won't meet the demand we have on the real stuff.
Why would they push the concept of peak oil if its going to push people away from using it? Why on earth would they want people to avoid oil consumption?
