The 'Surfer' is one of the best and well known adverts of recent years.

Part of the 'Good Things Come to Those who Wait' campaign, the ad uses the metaphor of Hawaiian surfers waiting for the ultimate wave to reflect anticipation for the perfect pint of Guinness.

    Cheers! :)

  • Anyone else feel like taking some Es and going to a rave?..lol

  • @AlamoJane Sure. But be cautious. If one gets caught up in things at that emotional level, one will be a sucker for those who are all too ready to exploit their audience ... at that level: mere alcohol producers and other advertisers, religious zealots, politicians, etc.

  • @flowerbower It may be an advert made by 'mere alcohol-producers' but watching it makes me want to go outside and run or swim or dance because I'm alive! Again, don't think I'm alone in feeling like that either. I'm not going to make any sweeping statements about art being fundamental to being human because well, it's each to their own. I do feel sorry that you don't experience the same pulse thumping, primal feeling though. Turn it up and turn it up loud! 'Scuse me I'm going for a run. :D

  • whats the songs name ???????????????????????

  • @zxcthethird i meant 2 channels dont think 5 was out then ... god im old

  • i always remembered this ad :) it was far greater than any programme on tv at the time and i used to look through the 3 ad channels to find it hahahah

  • @Zttbm so it failed, that's the whole point of an advert
