Gizmo - 1st Look HP Windows 7 Slate

Gizmo Ep05 - Get the first look at photos from the unveiling of Microsoft and HP's Windows 7 Slate. It is a tablet that is powered by the multi-touch features of Windows 7 and features a few interesting modes like: movie mode, reading mode, and pc mode. The interesting part is seemingly a tie-up with Amazon (be it with Microsoft, HP or both were not sure.) Ballmer demoed the Amazon PC reader on the HP Slate, and the reader will ship as standard with the Slate.

Release date: later this year, and the price: about the same as a mobile phone. Our guess, pre-Christmas and around the $600-$700 mark.

Because it is a competition to get the customers money, I do like the way Windows and Android tablet try to out do the Ipad (which the most popular tablet ever!)

Hey! That works for me on so many levels, Ipad gives you a pretty tablet that can run great apps on the go .. but then Others, give you everything on the Ipad plus 10 times more. I like more, If available I want the moon & stars. When the Ipad finally gets cardreaders & cameras, I am looking forward to wireless HDMI or 3D on Windows.
