  • Memories galore - Its a pleasure to view this clip - Thanks for keeping it out there.

  • Thank you so much.

  • Thank you...I first heard this song in 1959 while in the US Navy visiting Japan. I have never forgotten it and for years I was unable to find it. Youtube and you have taken me back to my 20 yearold memories.

  • This song will live forever for me - It brings me back to a time in my life when I was filled with youthfull ambition - life has a way of getting past those wistfull days - But I have a wonderful chest of memories which this song is part of.

  • The song was one of my Mothers favorites - I spent a few months at the Kodokan in Japan in the early 60's - I heard a more contemporary version of the song there and later in the States - I have enjoyed it ever since - Great memories for me of The Land of the Rising Sun...and my beloved Mother.

  • Reminds me of a girl from Hong Kong who I ......shared an evening with so to speak. I actually watched this clip right before I meet her. Beautiful song.

  • crerjp,

thank you for your kind information. Wonder if she'll receive compliments and best wishes for her great achievements and still being remembered by her admiring fans, one of them being yours truly.

  • Yes, Li Hsienlan or Li Xianglan (李香蘭)acted in this movie. She is actually a Japanese named Yamaguchi Yoshiko still alive in Japan in her 88 years of age. If you have interest about her, please click my ID and go to see my video about Li Xianglan and read the text.

  • I saw this movie during the Japanese occupation in 1943-1944. If I'm not mistaken the actress' name is Miss Li Hsien Lan. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you.
