  • Thank god he came out in the early 1970s because if he tried to have a career today he would never be signed in a billion years and nobody would have ever heard these beautiful songs. Today they would have told him he wasn't pretty enough and he didn't use autotune and sound like Kanye. I hope the music industry rots and dies today, I saw a guy just like Croce last year playing in a dive, blew me away, meanwhile absolute fucking shitbags like Lil Wayne and Chris Brown are relentlessly promoted.

  • excellent lyrics by a man who left us too early.

  • the background track for my misspent youth. you are missed sorely, jim. and you're playing what looks exactly like my vintage ovation, purchased new, when i was. new, relatively speaking.

  • Listen to the background when they perform. No shouting! People are actually sitting quietly and LISTENING to the music. Awesome! :')

  • some of you people on here are so fucking gay all you right about is how all new music sucks, buncha lamos if u ask me, croces the man and never gets old but arent yall tired of, WOOHOO SWHHWEET HOME ALLIE-BAMA!! and of course, DONT SHTOP.... BELEVIN!! and just a little, BEENNY BEENNY BEENNY ANDA JEEEAATSS!! like damn classic rock stations just play the same old shit, embrace the times people even some nigger music is pretty good now!

  • Very true, I agree with you ...

  • man that ovation doesn't cut for the lead like the old martins they played earlier..

  • guys like Jim Croce, Harry Chapin and James Taylor ARE music. The wasteland they call "top 40" is a wasteland of awful offal. Period.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Couldn't agree with you any more. I honestly get pissed off every time I turn the radio on, listening to what people are calling the "top 40" songs out there. The music industry has become a "good looks" and popularity contest, and not even a music contest.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Wow ! I I always wanted to say those exact words regarding Jim Croce ! You know your music !

  • @JamesTKirkCobain I am sorry mate but I have to disagree with you. Melissa Etheridge does a modern version of this type of music. Especially her first record. People know who the special ones are.... Jim was one of a kind as you well know and I think he would have made his mark no matter what decade he arrived in. At least that is my hope. :)

  • 38 years and still regreting it Upper Darby still misses you.
