Nicely produced, but "less is more" anyone? There's a reason why movie trailers are about a minute!

This is not a movie trailer. It is not even a book trailer. It is a cinematic representation of the first chapter of the book and we tried to remain faithful to the source material.

Movie trailers are usually comprised of the most exciting moments of an entire feature film strung together in the most enticing (and some times misleading) way possible. This is the only scene we shot of Echo Park, so the MTV style editing you seem to be looking for was out of the question.

Jerry Edgar is actually supposed to be African-American. Harry would have a mustache as far as I know, and a suit would be out of the question. He would have, more than likely, a sport jacket on with a blue oxford shirt underneath. Love the concept, and was very excited to watch this video. All in all, good.

The actor playing Edgar is author Gar Anthony Haywood. He IS African American. Harry Bosch's suit was author Michael Connelly's idea.

There is nothing in the books that states Harry has a mustache all the time. I've always assumed he could shave once in a while. Due to short notice during casting, Tim Abell did not have time to grow a full mustache and I didn't want to put a fake one on him.

But with the number of comments I've seen about his lack of facial hair, I'm beginning to wish I had.

I though of the ideal actor to play him, he has played cops before, he's handsome, slim and has dark hair and is the right age, plus he can wear a moustache without looking silly it is JOHNNY DEPP, the perfect Bosh

Good work! I'd love to see a whole movie done, but that'd take forever, I'm sure lol. I wasn't even LOOKING for this partic story on youtube, but this is among the top books I've read of his so far, imo.

I HOPE I'm NOT giving anything away here, so I'll just hint that at one point, 1 of the characters in the Bosch novels told him he looked like a certain t.v. character...I'll write back if you wanna know :D lol

I love the books too. I started with 'The Poet' and then went to the beginning - I have nearly read them all!

I always imagined harry bosch looking like gary oldman as commisioner Gordon in the new batman series. The tache, worn edge about him and the cheap suit....also thought edgar would be a bit cockier and smiley like um, like a taller version of Don Cheadle. But each to their own imagination right! Michael connellys 'Bosch' series is a cracking bit of writing, very addictive to read! thanks x
