@JanForest Obviously his family is doing OK and can afford the tools and shop space but I think it's cool that they are teaching him responsibility and to work for his future and contribute to his own education. While he's lucky to have all the tools already, he's also lucky to have a family that isn't coddling and spoiling him.

This sound bitter to me. You make a lot of assumptions. Seems like Alex is creative and hardworking and makes a good pen. He is earning money for college which makes him an entrepeuneur in my book.
