@marcelmombeekpiano Twaddle. Richter was never as talked about because he was reticent and not readily inclined to being interviewed. Many of the big names remain known for things other than their undoubted skill, record compilers and reissues keep them alive and the names stay in common currency. Probably also because he remained in the USSR and didn't give himself to the West.
Richter has gained more exposure on You Tube to people who probably never even knew he existed.
In ten years, Richter will still be widely considered one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. And you'll still be obsessing over pianists who try to pass off mistakes as style.
@mombeekmarcel His Schubert sonatas ,Skrjabin,Schumann,Debussy,Ravel..oh my God!Such beauty, great imanigation, faithfull to the score.I ,and a few 1000 others had the privelege of hearing this in Live situations in Japan in concerthalls with fantasic accoustics. Obviously you were not there..Richter died 17 years ago,yet websites and likes still are discussing his genius..while Cziffra is only sometimes and briefly discussed in terms of"speed" and "speed" like a kind of "freak".Nothing more.Basta
Richter, exciting as usual,,,unless of course the listener has impaired hearing, or is a Richter-hater (they exist,,,,look further down) Many thanks for posting,,and Best Wishes.
@mombeekmarcel Listen to this clip in 10 years, you may be surprised to find out that you love it. TO 94 pianolover - can ypu please tell me from what Ricther CD is this recording? I absolutely love it. Thx
without heart, without fire, without brain, only note's and reproducing dynamics the composer worte, without imagination or fantasy, that's what he does the best!
