Growing up in the notorious Parkview Cts. housing projects, P.1.M.P (Born Christopher Smith), was the youngest of his mother's seven children. Although his mother did the best she could to keep a roof over their heads, P.1.M.P. spent most of his childhood hustling from one project to the next. "I always been into rap music, but after I saw Easy E and NWA that's what really made me wanted to start music. To make his dream come true he went out in bought a digital recorder, a mic and a keyboard and from there he put out his first Cd, Ghetto Material, just for the streets of Jackson. He recorded the album and landed an independent distribution deal out of Texas with a company called Southwest Wholesales. The album sold well and it opened doors for his next album: Too Nation Ta' Go Local, and it had some major features such as Haystak, Skinny Pimp, and Gangsta Blac. The album quickly gained national attention and spawned the street single Hataz on Da Town featuring Haystack, and was distributed by RnD Distribution out of Houston, Texas. P.1.M.P. is known for his style of lyrics and for recently finishing his street ranked best album "Street Hustla' P.1.M.P. is the first artist to release a national album out of Jackson, Tn. and credits his success to his brother Slick Vick for always telling him to keep at it "RIP". Slick Vick also helped P.1.M.P. career by always donating something when it was time to press up an album.P.1.M.P. has also been credited for his lyrics by Pastor Troy, Haystack, Skinny Pimp, Dj Squeeky, Mr. Mike, Gangsta Blac, Murder Dog Magazine, and Street Masters Magazine and among others. Standing firmly on the foundation of the Jackson, Tn. rap scene, P.1.M.P.'s powerful voice- whether viciously dominating the mic or blowing smooth vocals delivers a freshman effort that rivals the honesty and grit of many down south legends.
