To follow my story subscribe to my blog at RoyACui.com.
I'm a digital retoucher that is part of the media machine that suckers women into thinking that they should look like this flawless person that does NOT exist anywhere in the world. This is my first video blog done for the The Keep It Real Challenge: Day Two by MissRepresentation.org. Trying to get magazines that focus on fashion, beauty and the female lifestyle to print ONE UNretouched image of a model per publication for the summer of 2012.
I wont bog the description down with my entire message, but here's what I have to say on my blog at royacui.com.
Let me know if YOU know about retouching in media in regards to women and stay tuned to my blog, because by telling my story I might be committing career suicide. "I don't know what happens next."
Thanks for watching.

I'm a co-mod of a group on Tumblr called stophatingyourbody. Myself and the other co-mods try to tell our members constantly that they are fine the way they are, that what they see in movies, on tv, in magazines isn't real. But we've seen the insecurities that these girls still have. It's a poison! Thank you, THANK you for being brave enough to speak out!

Hi, Roy! My name is Izzy Labbe, and I'm a blogger for SPARK Summit, and also Julia Bluhm's partner in crime for the Seventeen Petition... I made the "If You Don't Like Something, Change It" video. I just wanted to say that this video is SO inspiring. I've shared it with the SPARK team, and all of us are amazed at your courage and determination. Rock on! Thank you so much for what you're doing. I can't wait to see other work you're yet to produce. :)

Thank you for posting this video! It has helped me write my dissertation (Investigating the debate concerning photographic manipulation within beauty advertisements) for my final year at University and it's good to know that people actually want to change what they see being portrayed to the public. Well done on having the courage to post this video as it must have been tough! Keep up the good work!

God bless you for having the strength and the courage to come out with your story. As an activist for this cause, I occasionally give workshops on self-esteem and body image, while showcasing the concept of photo touch and airbrushing. I am truly inspired that someone such as yourself has broken away from this destructive industry and spoken out against it. Your words will hold more weight than anyone else's because they literally come from the "horse's mouth" and you have my utmost gratitude.

LOL, "Heathertoft" is the name of my rabbitry, I'm a dude named Kyle. However, that's neither here nor there. What you are doing is amazing. I've made sure to show this video to everyone I know; it shows there are still good, honest people in this world who will do what's right even if the outcome is uncertain. I say again, bravo good sir! :)

What have you been up to since this? I'd be really interested to know how things are going for you (and to help, if there's any way I can).

I'd love to know your opinion on using women and men who are average as models. Do you think that could have an even more positive effect? I personally have seen some change as there are BBW models out there, however I still find it appalling that even though these women are closer to the average size, they still are photoshopped beyond belief.
