Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup: Phase 2

The following is footage from the Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup at the Syracuse Sporthorse Invitational on November 2, 2008. The "Syracuse Seven" consisted of Cara Raether, Callan Solem, Brianne Goutal, and Beezie Madden from the U.S., Harry Smolders and Henk Van De Pol of the Netherlands, and Ben Maher of Great Britain. In this second phase, which emphasized power and height, Beezie Madden and her mount Judgement tied Ben Maher on Robin Hood W. She tried to beat her height record from the previous year--which would mean jumping 6'6 this year--but they just knocked the bar down. Maher actually cleared the 6'6 last fence, but he knocked the top rail on the third fence. Madden was the overall winner of the Cup. Can't wait for November 2010 to get here and see Beezie ride. I hope she is in it this year. She is truly a great rider.

I may not have a lot of footage of the whole crew, but the people you see listed in the video description constitute the whole group who competed in that particular event.

i'm really confused... i watched this on animal planet this year on january 10th. they didn't say anything about it being a rerun, so i recorded it and made a video of it. i put 2009 sporthorse cup in the title. so... im wrong? it wasn't the 2009 sporthorse cup?

The competition actually took place in November of 2008. I was there. They aired it on Animal Planet on January 10.

I'm not a big fan of the rider at 2:24, it seems like he is pushing the horse too much, and as you can see at 2:34 he yanks on the horses mouth before the jump, and as it's landing he yanks on it again, making it knock the pole down, and the horse didn't look too happy about it, because it was putting its ears back.
