@misteroriginal I didn't evr compete. I never even entered it in the scale contest, and never did a detailed enough job to think it would compete. Its basically stand off scale but she looked good in the air!

@rcchoppertodd how much did it cost??

I guess, as a video guy, I was attracted to your highly entertaining concept. I don't know enough about the details to understand why one helicopter wins the scale competition while another does not. I just liked what you did.

I ended up putting about 2500 into it. Its a Raptor 90 mechanics and the MD500 fuseloge, (was green). I cut the side exhaust off and made the exhaust exit through the rear. The paint was done by me then cleared by a friend. i work for Palm Beach PD and that is our SWAT teams actual logo on the side. Also the skids are brake tubing with functional lights.

Now that we've given it a few weeks, it turns out this is one of the most popular helicopters of the show. Interesting to me what "the people" want to see versus what wins the blue ribbon. Or maybe you didn't compete?

Wow... Nice Job on the video! Looks like the pilot is pretty good also... lol... its my helicopter! I have another video of me flying it here in West Palm Beach, (where I live), just search "rcchoppertodd". See ya at IRCHA this year. I was the DJ for the SWARM party Friday night if you went to that, (with Will and Finless from Helifreak).
I love watching in slo-motion like that.

I'm dying to know if the paint scheme is real.

That's a great looking helicopter. Nice camera work. As always, love the slow motion shots. This looks to be the Hughes 500 Defender or AH-6 because of target aquisition sight on nose. Howard Hughes designed this helo for Vietnam, Model Number 369, OH-6A Cayuse (after Native American tribe), civilian designation Hughes 500. Later, Mcdonnell Douglas bought Hughes, more recently Boeing bought MD. Special Forces still use it in MH-6/AH-6 & losely nicknamed it Little Bird, but real name is Cayuse.
