@AmicableJudgeRhino The Honda engine in 2008 produced almost 1000HP even limited to V8, but the car lacked downforce, if you look in 08, Button and Barrichello hit the highest MPH in top speed tracks
So i expect Honda would've had the strongest even at 18,000rpm

@xRapidClaWx fraid not the Mercedes produced more power at 18,000rpm than the Honda did at 19,000rpm.
-
Brawn would've been a lot faster with the Honda engine
-
@Suprahampton no, it was a fluke but with the standarised engines at v8 90deg 2400max ccm3 the engine would have fit fine really. but ferrari and merc systems werent tested until after honda pulled out. the suspension is attached to the gearbox the pick up points. at force india we had to change everything about with the rear suspensioin because the vjm2 was designed with the ferrari power system not merc and that hampered the car hugely. it was a fluke - the situation at force india was normal
-
@JamesHol100 Apparently not that much of a fluke cause they trial fitted both Merc & Ferrari engines... the Merc fitted with less cutting & adjusting needed

i dont think anything like this will happen ever again. it is fundamentally the honda ra109 but obviously branded brawn gp 001. the car was designed with honda enginer gearbox and therefore suspension pickup points in mind. so in that respect, it was a fluke the merc drivetrain worked with that car as well as it did. however, that aside, i think is was one of the great stories of formula 1 history.

i love the look of this car

but either way still a great achievement none the rest cause they were in a situation in december '08 where they had virtually no money but still managed to get the 2 cars on the grid for the first race
No you're wrong, Jenson Button did win the whole thing.
