plenty of model rockets were flown at dairy air (run by Tripoli) this year.
I'm to lazy to do the math, but my camera got one moving about 30 feet a frame, at 30 fps. Nobody broke 10k, at least on Saturday (it was 105 Fahrenheit, so we ditched Saturday evening.) the rocket with the most thrust was flying two stage M2500 to M150.(the motor ranking is the alphabet, b is double a, c is double b, etc. and A can launch a pound about 200 feet.) I believe that the numbers by the letters are the number of grains.

This is Bob. Soon bob will take over youtube! spread this to 50 videos. It will soon be on the news. then you will know you helped spread Bob.

  • Nice vid. If you don't mind, I'll clarify a few things.

The big 2 stage was an M2500 to an M1419. It failed when the M2500 blew its nozzle.

Motors are classed by total impulse. an A is 2.5Nsec. A B is 5, a C is 10, etc. M is from 5120.1 NSec up to 10240 NSec, the largest legal in Kalifornia.

The numbers following are average thrust in Newtons. An M1419 is between 5120 and 10240, making it an M, and it averages 1419 Newtons of thrust. (about 320 pounds of thrust) over its burn time.
