How to Use iMovie 11': Snap to Beats

Follow these steps to activate the snap to beats feature in iMovie:

1. Open a new project.

2. Find the music that you would like in your iMovie and drag it in.

3. Click on "View" at the top and make sure that "Snap to Ends", "Snap to Beats", and "Audio Skimming" are all enabled.

4. Click on the gear that appears on the music file and select "Clip Trimmer".

5. Go through the entire song and press the "m" key when you would like to add a beat and make the image change.

6. Add as many images as there are beats.

@DirtRacerProductions You would have to take parts of your clip from your clips library at the bottom of iMovie and cut parts of the clip in and drag them into the movie. Then skip about a second and a half or so and cut another part of the movie out and drag it into the movie. Make sure that there is no transition between the clips so they switch to the other clips fast. Repeat this for as many beats as you would like in the movie.

good brief explanation. only confusing part was when you say that Audio Skimming, etc. should be "checked off." i thought you meant that they should be "turned off" but i realized you actually meant "checked on."
