Selections from One Way Forward: The Outsider's Guide to Fixing a Republic by Lawrence Lessig. In this inagural lecture of the MIT Media Lab Conversations Series, Lawrence Lessig discusses some of the core problems of the US Congress; the need for all citizens to fight corruption; and possible steps to return the United States to a purer form of republic, as intended by the framers of the Constitution.

Add a rule where they have to wear on their jackets tags of companies who sponsored them like Nascar drivers. Than we could see who they actually represent.

why can't you just spell "enough" instead of "enuf"?

I found that switching to another tab helped me enjoy this video; bandwidth be damned.

Was it really necessary to edit this? I'd have enjoyed (and gotten far more intellectual stimulation from) watching this video without having [unnecessary] propaganda shoved in my face. Still, the gentleman pictured has some very useful things to say.

I was expecting italics after the first slide.

Republic does not mean representative democracy. It means a government who is granted specific limited powers by federated states.

I think this is very well-meaning, but it doesn't really address the most important question: WHY is there corruption in the first place? You can only treat symptoms until you answer that question, and the answer is... regulations. Regulations spawn corruption because business buys special treatment, for them or their enemies. This makes businesses happy, and politicians happy. What is the best way to stop corruption? Make sure that Congress doesn't have any influence to sell in the first place.

I think a lot of what he said translates easily and sounds correct.

This would be more persuasive if he hadn't made the slide show himself. His font choices were heinous.
