I have just seen this for the first time (Oct 2010) - LOVE it - this CD of course went on to become the best selling album in the world in 2009, a feat accomplished in just six weeks - and the best selling female debut album of all time. Her voice is just as you describe it - and her 'foibiles' I think are greatly exaggerated by the tabloids. Read her new book, she's an amazing woman.

Hi Just read your comment on CD. I also bought it and loved it. Personally ,I hope she adds some faster numbers on 'The Gift'. If you have heard her duet with Elaine Paige you will know that she sings beautifully in the lower register, where the celtic lilt in her voice is more to the fore. I hope you will review the new Album. If so ,I will look out for it. Best wishes from Scotland.
