Are there true public goods, that should be collectivized and at least financed, if not provided, by government? Is government spending increasing at a rate faster than inflation? Should it?

Additional topics discussed include whether per capita taxes is a better gauge than Martires measure of per capita taxes divided by state income to determine what is a low cost, state? Do charter schools out perform traditional public schools? Should the legislatively set cap on the number of charter schools in Chicago, the suburbs, and downstate Illinois be removed? Would Illinois parents like more school choice, including school vouchers?

Does Tillman favor more choice for parents in education, including charter schools, education tax credits and school vouchers? Did State Senator Barack Obama favor school vouchers when appearing on Public Affairs, in 2002? Does Obama favor school vouchers now? If he doesnt, how does President-Elect Obama justify choosing to opt out of the public schools, by sending his daughters to a private school, but denying most parents a similar choice? Indeed, Barack Obamas mother and grandparents chose, to send Barack to a private high school followed by private colleges, accepting something similar to a scholarship voucher. Does that make Obamas current rejection of a school voucher policy hypocritical?
