  • @rosaprice Is Puccini Heroines on here?

  • Too wonderful for my mortal ears .. I love her voice, poise and grace .. Thank you for posting this.. My daughter who is 6 ran from the dinning room and gazed in amazement when she heard her singing..

  • beautiful..but Puccini Heroines by Leontyne Price is the recording ALL must hear. Thankfully I first heard Leontyne when I was 23 years old..(almost 30 years ago) and I've never found an equal to Ms Price's strength, control and vibratto and I've listened to them ALL going as far back as Melba. Leontyne Price is in a class all on her own!

  • Thanks to 1st Tech I came across you, Leontyne. Thanks for having you here on earth. Me gusta.

  • effortless control of a magnificent voice - deep and rich. what a pleasure to listen to.

  • Well she is a very great artist no question and sang this superbly. Ther are many great sopranos in the past-- Victoria De LosAangles, Renata Tebaldi, Zinka Milanov, Rita Striech, Elizabeth Swartzkopf, Pilar Lorengar, Licia Albanese, excuse me if I missed a few: But Leotyne and Joan Sutherland are in a class all their own.

  • Beautiful! Simply Beautiful! Leaves me Speechless! WoW!

  • @Famfriass There are many African American opera singers especially ladies; in fact if I try to come up with top American sopranos of the second half of the 20th century most names that come to mind are African American singers. Check out Jessye Norman, Martina Arroyo, Leona Mitchell, Kathleen Battle. Mezzos- Grace Bumbry, Shirley Verrett. Bass - Simon Estes. Tenor today - Lawrence Brownlee. There are others, too many to list. There is a documentary "Aida's brothers and sisters" here.

  • @evangelicalyankee yes :) "magnificent" is *exactly* how she should be described. :)
