Sherlock/John - The Quest for a Hero

As John struggles to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder following being wounded in the Afghanistan War, he turns to Sherlock for support and purpose.

Sherlock, having always cared for John more than a friend, has difficulty being placed in a hero status by John. He is further confused by mix signals John is sending regarding their relationship.

One night while they are out, Sherlock dares John to race him home. John does, forgetting his injury, realizing after that Sherlock has tricked him.

As time progresses, John gradually recovers emotionally and physically only to discover he cares deeper for Sherlock than he realized, to both their surprise and delight.
