  • It's so sad when you hear someone you look up to as a role model saying what he's been through. It's as upsetting as hearing it from a close friend or family member, I just want to give him a hug and make things better :'(

  • Where's the rest of it?! This is one of the best interviews with him I've seen.

  • @TheFugdabug driven to create. Exactly. When you create you are making the void beneath you disappear. Temporarily.

  • very honest. Most artists feel like this and he expressed it very well. So does the King of Self Doubt, Thom Yorke. "People get crushed like biscuit crumbs/they lay down in the bitumen/you have tried your best to please everyone/but it just isn't happening/No it just isn't happening"

Thom Yorke, "Black Swan" .....I feel for him.

  • This has brought several tears to my eyes. I knew he had a bad childhood, but having a mother who doesn't love him just shatters my heart. God. :(

  • Guy's got a lot of guts speaking out, there are certain dumbasses that would look down on him for saying this. He's probably helping a lot of his fans who have been through similiar things by saying this.

    Good Richard Z

  • This is so sad.How Richard can think that he is lonely, he has a lot fans. I am crying as I write this.

  • @bonestrukture maybe they're referring to the last decade, not the eighties

  • Money, fame, fans, all this travels. I don't want it if I'm gonna be lonely and feel that no one loves me, and I don't have someone who I could love. I prefer to live in my small town without money, fame, fans and all this travels but with my family. I'm sorry for him.

  • Richard, you are a great guitarist. Rammstein is not Rammstein without you and till. You are what inspires me to write and learn to play guitar. In some ways you and I are alike. And Emigrate, that was a great album. I am a huge fan of yours and always will be

  • I wish I could talk to him, and let him know he isn't alone in his plight. Not really. It is a common theme among creative people... a search for 'where it is you belong', and the only thing that fills that need is 'doing', but doing that which is the 'real you'. It may seem common this explanation, but it isn't, it belongs to a family - the driven. We are driven not just to create but to explain to ourselves that we have found a place where we really do belong and we have a right to exist.

  • @bonestrukture You can be successful and still be awful. Example: NWA.
