  • Sorry it ended so soon. It was great to see Catalina in its glory days...to see some stars in color...to watch Chester Morris fluff a line. These Technicolor shorts are wonderful. Might you post the rest of this one?

  • Thanks for watching..... all interesting moments are posted in five different clips for your enjoyment !

  • I wish I lived back then..I was born in the wrong time. That's why I surround myself with everything 1930's and 1940's My entire place is decorated in that period ..from my radios to my telephones...all my furniture too is from that period. People look at me funny sometimes ..because I am only 35....and I still listen to a Victrola.

  • Interesting to see Cary Grant and Randolph Scott sitting together as a couple. We'll never know for sure but it's long been rumoured that they were more than just room-mates when they lived together. Quite a handsome couple!

  • Randolph Scott, what a man! So perfectly handsome and elegant! And it's even more exciting to see him in candid video and in colour!

Thank you for sharing this rare footage!

  • Thanks for posting, Errol & Lili are so sweet!

  • Eddie Peabody---- King of the Banjo !!!!!!!!!

So great to see him in color like this.......

    such energy and showmanship.

Thanks for sharing this on the internet. jl

  • Eddie Peabody rules!

  • I've never seen this before. Where did you find it?! Avalon was wall to wall beach goers / tourists when I used to go there in the 1960's... no wonder. Hollywood was making it big. There is also the movie, "the glass bottom boat" with Doris Day that was set there, too.

  • It was a better time back then, for sure. I agree. And I wish I was born back then, too.

  • Santa Catalina hasn't changed all that much since the '30s; try and visit there sometime if you can. You'll be hooked!

  • Thx for sharing. And thx for including Chester Morris' name-that's the reason I found this.
