@binslick Agreed, it's truly heartbreaking.

People...What did Marvin always say his #1 message was? It was a message of LOVE and there's no reason for us to keep up the hatred for his father. They're both long dead and in heaven. Marvin wouldn't want us all down here hating his father. Forgiveness is the only way.

@50srocknrollfan18 Mavin Gaye was a good man and i grew up listening to his music in the 70's-His father beat up on his mother and Marvin was only trying to defend her and sadly it cost him his life-Marvin was a legend and will be truly missed

@nutlil2 dont say that! I love Marvin's music, but you gotta look at both sides.

@50srocknrollfan18 your just a hater along with marvin's father who hate their childrens success!!
-
@50srocknrollfan18 I actually heard the same thing about him beating his father, but it could have been alot of things that lead up to everything

Marvin Gayes' father was a fucked up individual. If you may a hater. May he burn in hell with Timothy McVeigh. Marvin should still be with us today.
-
some parent hate the success of their children.
-
This is a weird topic. There are stories that Marvin Gaye beat his dad, which caused the shooting.

IAM ONLY 22 BUT grew up on his music thats all my mother played she love her some Marvin n i grew to love him to its a shame that a father would take his own child life but his life n music will allways live on R.I.P

The worst move Marvin made was to move in with his demented father. He should of stayed in Europe. They never got along and trouble was always awaiting him if they both lived under the same roof. Anyhow the world lost an extraordinary talent and a great human being. Marvin was unable to escape his demons and it cost him his life. it is a tragedy of epic proportions.
