My son and i were taking a ride and spotted a house fire on caufield street here in Grand Rapids. i happened to have my camera handy.
no one was hurt during the fire.

  • no garden hoses around to help before the fire dept got thare?

  • @Skankpronger ...when my son and i went around to the back to watch it all unfold...we found my cuzin fighting the flames with a garden hose. lol

  • @Skankpronger ...i have to get some new editing software in order to load up the other vids...they are more than 10 minutes long and youtube doesnt let me load them up.

  • @McDeeViouz ...no one died. the parents were gone and the kids made it out ok. the kids made sure to get the playstation before they ran out the house!

  • @Skankpronger Garden hose doesn't have enough pressure to reach the roof of a house........besides could you imagine how hot it is near that house........you'd get burnt and sick by the smoke.

  • @Skankpronger Trained hands would know a garden hose is useless on a fire of that size. They also would know you need enough GPM's to overcome the thermal energy, and a garden hose does a poor job of that. That's also why most departments don't have 1" booster hose for structure fires anymore.

  • @ffjsb actually youd be surprised what could be accomplished with just a garden hose in trained hands

  • @Skankpronger A garden hose would be useless on a fire of that size, in fact, you'd be very likely to be burnt by the radiant heat if you were close enough to use a garden hose.
