i want to slap the person responsible for this horrible rendition of something so awesome

@ExAstris37 It looks like an Atlas II
-
I'm sure i'd shit every organ in my body if i saw that atlas coming after me
-
liking what looks like an Atlas yielding a mini gun, cheesy :P

@Gangdyret while there was a cartoon in the late 80's/early 90's Battletech has never been a tv series. This is a demo trailer for a CG school class final project.

@Frday101 long long ago, there was a big arguement because some of the mechs are very similar. there are a handful that are pretty much the same between the two franchises. I think it ended up that there was a modeler who had made mechs for both companies taht were nearly identicle. They fought over which side had the rights and it was a big mess. The issue comes up every time one or the other tries to use one of those similar mechs in a game/project.

@ExAstris37 Why would robotech sue mechwarrior? I don't remember an atlas turning into a jet.

looks very shoddy! shit

good reason mechs are awesome. the names. thunder fox. jackalopes. mad cat. atlas's. i believe between mechs and the japanese version where they got faces the mechs would kick their ass. who cares if it has a face or a smile. as long as it looks badass
The red mech with the rotary ac is indeed an atlas for sure. That is the final incarnation of the Atlas as witnessed by WizKids' tabletop game of mechwarrior. Specifically, that is the exact paint scheme used by the Exarch of the Republic of the Sphere.
A mechwarrior movie has recently been confirmed to have entered production, but the smacktards over at robotech are sueing AGAIN for copyright infringement (wasn't that crap settled in the 80's? let it go already).

You know that they did finnish the mini movie right? It was posted up September 1st 2008. I can't post the URL here since YouTube won't allow URLs in comments but do a search on "Dave School" and it will come up posted by "realmsmoderator". MWLL is not the only people creating the next generation 3D Mech games.
You have the guys at BattleMechHanger(dot)Com and MekTek(dot)Net.
BMH uses the Battlefield 2142 Game Engine and MekTek is developing AT-1 usesing their own engine.
