I've owned the Pitch Black Mastersound HH, Crash and 22" ride. I'd have to say the HiHat is my favorite part of this grouping. It's very crisp, but has a good midrange to it. In recordings it sounds great.
However, what I have learned about the crash is you need to hit is harder than your typical crash to get the sound you are looking for.
The Ride is warm and sounds like a Ride should sound.

@silverstonedwolf1 Haha thats fine my friend. Do what you like and I do what I like. Not arguing with you, just stating my opinion as you did too. Have a good one and always keep drumming.

@guitardude1230 thats your opinion. i think they sound different but still good. i used to have them and they stood out fine for my blast beats and breakdowns. i have used these they seem just fine for me. so how are you going to argue with someones opinion

@silverstonedwolf1 Haha because I made this account many years ago before I played drums. And genre aside, the Pitch Black cymbals are cheap, bad sounding cymbals whose only marketing ploy was being black. They barely sound like cymbals. B8s sound much better than these do. Id even say these are the worst for hardcore because there is no expression in their sound. Its important to have a nice brash, lively cymbal for any breakdown and these don't cut it.

@guitardude1230 ummmm..... then why is your name guitar dude. and the metal im talking about is much different then METAL. i mean like hardcore drumming as in august burns red stuff like that.
-
@silverstonedwolf1 I disagree they aren't better for any drumming because they sound like shit. You are talking to a metal drummer here.

@guitardude1230 these cymbals are better for metal drumming i used to have them but i had to move so i sold them...

@Suiax You may want to have your ears checked. These are horrible.

@antonioaquila Those are aewsome hats. My cousin owns a pair and they are VERY crisp. Alot more than any Zildjian Mastersound hats that I've played.
These cymbals are terrible, especially for the price. The black lacquer KILLS the natural resonance of the cymbal. They are just ZBT's with black finish on them so they have that gongy cheap B8 sheet cymbal sound. There is much better out there for your money. If you want them solely because they are black and "look cool"... well then you are playing drums for the wrong reason. Get some real cymbals with your money. These are a joke.
