El Tatio (conocido también como Los Géiseres del Tatio) es un campo de géiseres ubicado en los montes andinos del norte de Chile a 4.200 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Contrario a lo que se cree, no es el campo de géiseres más alto del mundo, Puchuldiza (Chile) y otros lugares están a mayor altura que El Tatio. También, es el grupo más grande de géiseres del hemisferio sur.
Los turistas generalmente hacen un recorrido por el Desierto de Atacama y el pueblo de San Pedro de Atacama antes de ir a El Tatio. Tiene más de 80 géiseres activos, el 8% de los que hay en el mundo. A pesar del número de géiseres las erupciones no son de gran altura, alcanzando una media de 75 centímetros.

El Tatio Geyser Field (locally known as Los Géiseres del Tatio) is located within the Andes Mountains of northern Chile at 4,200 meters above mean sea level. Contrary to some reports, it is not the highest-elevation geyser field in the world. Puchuldiza Geyser Field, Chile, and possibly several other fields are higher in elevation (Glennon, J.A. and Pfaff, R.M., 2003). Tourists often visit the geysers while touring the nearby Atacama Desert and the village San Pedro de Atacama. "With over 80 active geysers, El Tatio is the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere and the third largest field in the world, after Yellowstone, USA, and Dolina Giezerov, Russia" (Glennon, J.A. and Pfaff, R.M., 2003).
"Though possessing numerous geysers, none erupt very high. The highest eruption observed has been around six meters in height. The average geyser eruption height at El Tatio is about 75 centimeters" (Glennon, J.A. and Pfaff. R.M., 2003).
