Whoopi Goldberg made her debut on ABC's The View, by making excuses for Michael Vick, with the idea that dogfighting is just a "southern culture" thing.

With this dubious debut, Whoopi demonstrates just how easily, and comfortably she slips into the role of left wing nutcase, replacing Grossie the O'Donald.

Unless you've been to the South don't state your opinions on its culture. There are great things and bad things. Cock fighting, dog fighting, eating pig's feet and racism are the bad things. EVERYONE knows dog fighting is wrong. If they didn't they would do it publicly. But they do not now do they...? Anyone that says Vick is not to blame is a complete idiot just as Vick himself is a lowlife idiot. I don't care where you grow up... I don't care what excuse you use... Way to twist what Whoopi says to suit your own agenda. Whoopi Goldberg was not "justifying" his actions or "apologizing" for what he did. She was merely pointing out that maybe, just possibly, he might not have been aware of the complete cultural irresponsibility of his actions, because the "culture" he was exposed to might not have disapproved of his actions.
