i always gather twigs of varied sizes before lighting the fire... it's always hard to keep the magneseum in place as you try to strike, huh?

Fire first! Great point to make.. excellent job right off the bat.  And noticing the bedding even as you notice the water source.. you were really taking in your area. Getting off the ground would be a must at night so you were covering ever big issue I seen. I can't say hats off enough. NOT stopping to dwell on what you should have in that pack or what you could have done was a very big plus for me.. everyone always tells people.. I should have or I could have.. again.. very well done!!.AJ

@zehnsechz you could, better than nothing. salt is a mineral and has ions, but dont be put off by using earth, it wont kill you.
